Super absorbent. Built for heavy days.

Absorbs 9 tampons worth of flow or five pads.

Hi! I’m super-super-super absorbent and designed to handle the heaviest days of a period. I’m made of soft, comfy organic cotton and have a four-layer padded towel absorbency that holds your flow. I have a wicking layer on top, so I can absorb the blood super fast with no wetness. You will feel padding, but frankly, on those heavy days, feeling secure, safe, and leak proof is a pretty great feeling, alongside being so comfy and cozy. Warning: after you use me once, you will look at tampons and disposable pads and pretend you don’t know them. Be cold. They deserve it.

When to wear: on your heaviest days. Also great for postpartum and perimenopause.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from a Coral Reef: Hi! Thank you for using non disposable products. It may feel like a small gesture - but it’s not. I’m sick of getting tampons and pads getting caught up in my beautiful branches and you’re helping to keep that trash out of my home. Just one pair of Period means that 5 pads/9 tampons are never used or thrown away. Thank you! Next time you swim by me, stop and say hi.

Rough Elastic on the Leg Holes

The rest of the fabric is soft, but the elastic binding around the leg holes is super rough and irritating on sensitive areas. They fit great and the high waist is wonderful, but I can't stand to wear them because the rough elastic is so uncomfortable.

    POOR QUALITY

I bought several pairs and when I first received them one of the High Waisted pairs had small rips at the waist band. I emailed they had wonderful customer service, they responded immediately and sent me two free pairs. However after receiving the replacement pairs and wearing them for only two cycles and following manufacturers instructions on cleaning they just fell apart. The seams just unraveled and the waistband detached. Really wanted these to work but super disappointed in quality.

    Waistband lining

Overall, I like the fit and feel secure when wearing them. Unfortunately, the waistband is becoming detached and has developed holes after only a couple of wears. I will definitely purchase them again due to not having leakage, but will be cautious since they may not last as long.

    So in love ❤️ 😍 💖

I have a heavy flow and I usually wear always overnights maxi pads, purple box. I sleep with a towel because I know I'm going to leak and I try not to mess up my sheets. I also try not to remain seated too long as that may also cause leakage.

Life after Period. .... AMAZING!!! I've not had any leaks. There's no odor. They're comfortable. I'll admit when I first pulled them out the package, I thought they were gonna be too big. Perfect for 🤣. (I need to make some changes 😅) And when I first put them on, I immediately noticed the thickness of the crotch. However, it's nothing you'll focus on for the remainder of the day. I never think about it again. I HIGHLY recommend. I'm never buying pads again. Never could wear tampons.

    Mostly love, but gets holes

I've owned a few pairs, some for a year and others 1.5yrs, and at least two of my ~6 pairs are developing holes along seams.
