Hi! I’m a new-and-improved version of our Adaptive Period, inspired by excellent community feedback. I'm the perfect period solution for all types of bodies, abilities, and mobilities. I have soft and secure Velcro fasteners on the sides so you don't have to step in and out of me to wear -  perfect for caretakers or those with limited dexterity. 

I can’t tell you how many times I have been thoroughly wear tested to ensure the Velcro doesn't scratch the body and or create any sensory issues. The Velcro is soft and flexible for comfortable long term wear, and makes it easy to fit around meters and ostomy bags.  

My extended gusset offers maximum coverage from front to back, and is made of organic cotton for ultimate comfort. I know what you’re thinking. I sound so good, can you even wear me if you don’t have any mobility challenges. The answer is yes! As always. Period. Is for everyone. Did I mention how soft I am?

Body: 94% Polyester Brushed Microfiber with 6% Spandex Jersey

Lining: 95% organic cotton, 5% spandex

Absorbent Layer: 100% Polyester

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 9 tampons worth of blood.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Personal message from soil: I know it’s highly unusual to get a message from soil but in this case, I just had to say thank you. Just by using one pair of Period underwear, you’re saving the natural world from 9 tampons or 4 pads being thrown away and (because they don’t biodegrade) polluting the Earth for generations.     Perfect for Overnight Heavy Flows

    I tried this for the first time last night and..WOW! I'm back buying more! The fit was a smidge tight and uncomfortable until I laid down. After that, it was smooth sailing and sweet dreams 😴. I was able to sleep the entire night without getting up to change or feeling gross. I also use the other overnight heavy flow from The Period Co, but this is my new fav!!!

    I still hoped in the shower to take this one off to avoid a mess, just like I do the original overnights and it was easy enough to get the Velcro fastens undone.

    Disappointed - scratched

    I was so happy with these the first time I wore them. I needed something for post-surgery and a long recovery of not being able to stand; absorption was amazing.

    HOWEVER after washing these (gently/ air dry) the flaps no longer lay completely flat and roll on the edges leaving exposed velcro to rub against my skin. It literally left terrible marks on my body. The velcro has sharp edges too. I wish these were made with adjustable snappies like the reusable pads. This seems like such a big oversight. I will be recovering for a while and cannot bear to use these ever again, a big waste.

    I was so happy to find these! And wheelchair valid limited hand mobility and unable to take off normal underwear. These are literally life changing. I’m not exaggerating
