Medium to light absorbency. Also great for everyday leaks. Or just everyday.

Absorbs up to 4 regular tampons worth of flow.

Hi. I’m a new version of Period’s best-selling High Waisted in Cotton for Heavy Flows. But I can totally stand on my two feet or my amazingly absorbent gusset. I’m the softest cotton with a super soft safe organic cotton gusset. I’m great for pretty much everything - medium and light flow days, birth control periods, never-ending periods, and for pee leaks. You might say I’m perfect - ok, as long as you’re saying it.

When to wear: anywhere you want, the world is your oyster (or sub your favorite food for oysters).

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from a Star Fish: I wanted to tell you that on this rare instance, I’m not the star. You are. By wearing just one pair of Period, you’ve saved the world from 4 tampons that will take generations to decompose and let’s not get into pads. Thank you from the bottom of the ocean.

    Permanently lodged in my derrier

I'm only going to address fit here because I only bought these to wear at night to deal with occasional pee leaks while sleeping. As of yet, thankfully, I've not had any "accidents" so cannot speak to absorbency.

I am pear shaped and have much bigger thighs than average so keep that in mind. I'd like to say that I really appreciate the extended sizes. It's hard to find bigger sizes in period underwear.

So, on the plus side, there is no tightness around my thighs which is always a consideration for me and the waist does not roll down. They are truly high waisted (at least belly button). I ordered according to the size chart using my measurements and over all they fit fine. Maybe a bit large.

They unfortunately feel bulky and warm. The crotch extends for some reason all the way up the front which just adds to the feeling. The biggest issue is they just do not stay put. They just live in my butt crack. Pull them out, rearrange myself and minutes later they crawl back. They wash fine but attract lint like crazy in the dryer.

I bought both the microfiber and cotton of this style and I 1000% prefer the microfiber. The cotton is thicker than the microfiber and is therefore warmer and heavier feeling. Also, most importantly, the microfiber stay put for the majority of the time. There is also no weird extra fabric running all the way up the front either.

I have another brand of period underwear and much prefer their fit, however, they are quite a bit more expensive and are…

Not for everyone but glad someone is making an effort!

A bit diaper-ish and doesn’t seem to be designed for plus sized women. The absorbent part is incredibly thick and the rest of the underwear is very thin. The waistband is also weirdly thin and not very stretchy or comfortable. I’m not saying these are useless, I just don’t think they are made for everyone! Glad someone is trying to make periods more environmentally friendly.

    Does the job

These do the job but don't fit as nicely as the microfiber version.

    Fabric has no stretch

The material of these underwear do not stretch at all. The coverage is fine, but they are the same size as my other period underwear, but do not fit the same. This is why I only gave 2 stars.

    comfortable overall

the fit was comfortable. i truly could have sized down as the 2x was more roomy than expected. i wore it about 5 hours on what i considered a my medium flow, and the spaciousness of the fit likely contributed to the leakage i experienced. the bleed through wet the seat i was sitting on, so i had to do some damage control. since my pants were dark, the bleed through wasn't as glaringly obvious. that leak/bleed through moment was my only complaint. the under garments are easy to clean and i feel great about making the sustainable switch and minimizing my waste! i would definitely recommend.
