Heavy absorbency: designed for heavy days, mid-days, and most importantly, for everybody.

Absorbs up to 9 tampons or 5 pads of flow.

I’m a classic boxer shape designed to absorb period flow. But here’s the real headline: I’m for people who period, because not just women period. While I look and feel very un-periody, I have a four-layer towel system that can handle your period flow for hours and, with a wicking layer, can super absorb, so that you never experience any wetness. Made of organic cotton, I’m a little softer and cozier than a regular boxer, but that’s a nice feeling on your period.

When to wear: on heavy days, mid-days, and if you prefer a boxer period.

Trying to do period math? Click here to work out how many pairs you need for your period according to your Flow Threshold.

Some customers report that this style runs a little small - we recommend sizing up if you are on the fence!

You can see our size chart here.

Our Fabrics

Body: 95% Organic Cotton with 5% Spandex Jersey

Absorbent Layer: 100% Polyester

Leak Resistant Layer: 100% Polyester PUL

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 10 tbls, or 8-10 tampons, worth of blood.

Check out our absorbency test video here.

You can see the length of the absorbent panel here.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from a frog: you’re doing it, you’re saving the world from waste, and more than that, embracing a new way of thinking when it comes to periods. I am in awe. Enjoy the boxer!

    Boxer period underwear

I guess I should preface this by saying I don't think period underwear is for me.

I have now learned that "heavy flows" is relative. I have only worn these at night while I sleep or when I'm home all day and don't have to worry about bathroom access/being able to change underwear/etc. And after wearing the sleeper shorts to work for a day (which are supposed to be the most absorbent) and bleeding through them and both layers I was wearing over them, I won't ever be wearing these out on a heavy (which is regular for me) day. I hope this helps someone with a heavy flow.

As far as fit goes, I wish they were longer. These are so short, they just ride right up and may as well be briefs. As a trans person, I like wearing "mens" boxer briefs (which is why I tried these) but only when the legs are longer. I wish they were at least as long as the legs on the sleeper shorts. I also wish they didn't have such thick side seams (none of the other underwear I wear has side seams at all) because when I sleep in them, I wake up with a deep, painful canyon down my side. So side sleepers beware.

    Such A Help!!!

Having endometriosis and fibrous tumors pushing into my uterus cause great pain and beyond heavy bleeding. I couldn't keep up with pads or tampons. These have helped in every way with my flow and brought back some of my sanity being able to bleed freely without further complications of constant tampon changes.

These made my daughter’s experience with having a period at a younger age, much less distressing than it would have been, without a product like this. Thank you for creating such an amazing product <3
