Heavy absorbency: designed for heavy days, mid-days, and most importantly, for everybody.

Absorbs up to 9 tampons or 5 pads of flow.

I’m a classic boxer shape designed to absorb period flow. But here’s the real headline: I’m for people who period, because not just women period. While I look and feel very un-periody, I have a four-layer towel system that can handle your period flow for hours and, with a wicking layer, can super absorb, so that you never experience any wetness. Made of organic cotton, I’m a little softer and cozier than a regular boxer, but that’s a nice feeling on your period.

When to wear: on heavy days, mid-days, and if you prefer a boxer period.

Trying to do period math? Click here to work out how many pairs you need for your period according to your Flow Threshold.

Some customers report that this style runs a little small - we recommend sizing up if you are on the fence!

You can see our size chart here.

Our Fabrics

Body: 95% Organic Cotton with 5% Spandex Jersey

Absorbent Layer: 100% Polyester

Leak Resistant Layer: 100% Polyester PUL

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 10 tbls, or 8-10 tampons, worth of blood.

Check out our absorbency test video here.

You can see the length of the absorbent panel here.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from a frog: you’re doing it, you’re saving the world from waste, and more than that, embracing a new way of thinking when it comes to periods. I am in awe. Enjoy the boxer!

Trans people be warned packaging IS NOT DISCREET

I am a trans man, I am stealth but still get periods. I decided to try these since I liked that they come in a more traditionally masculine cut than the other options and the inclusivity is appreciated. What's not good is it will arrive in packaging that is absolutely not discreet at all lol. In my honest opinion it is pretty disingenuous to sell a product marketed to trans customers and then use packaging that will out said trans customers immediately to whoever may see the envelope, whether that's roommates, mail person, or whoever else. Aside from that, the fit it a bit high waisted for my liking, but seems to fit alright. material is pretty comfortable too. I haven't used them during my period yet so I cannot speak on how well it actually works (I'll see if I can update once I do). However I wanted to warn my trans brothers out there that if discreet packaging is a concern for you, then be careful with this one

    These are perfect

I have tried a few other companies (Thinx, Aisle) but while their products were generally tolerable, they had gussets that pressed into my skin or were too heavy and flappy in the crotch. They had a waistband that was too narrow and curled up on itself and dug into my flesh. The fabric wasn’t soft enough. But I liked the idea and I don’t always feel like using an insertable period product if my cramps are particularly heavy. I bought three pairs of these and one of the sleeper shorts and I’m going to buy more of both. They are quite absorbent and the crotch doesn’t feel damp until they’ve already absorbed a lot of flow. They have a wide waistband so it doesn’t squish into me uncomfortably. They have long enough shorts that my thighs don’t rub together (usually I wear shorts-style underwear for this reason). They are machine wash and machine dry. Hint: get a wet bag like the large snap-on ones from Smart Bottoms, rinse undies after use in sink then toss into wet bag. Every 1-2 days during my cycle I wash the worn undies by unzipping the wet bag (I don’t have to handle the undies again) and chuck the whole thing into the washing machine. The undies come out of the bag during the cycle. Yay. I wish I’d had these for postpartum.

    4 Stars

These seem like they will be comfy for sleeping and I know they will work (I usually just use the heavy flow briefs but wanted more security). The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sizing is different I usually do the 2x in all the other products and they fit perfectly, these fit well in hips and thighs but there is a waistline gap.
