You’ll see. I’m made from our PeriodTech® fabric - a super stretchy and comfy Nylon and Spandex knit that moves with you. As always, the gusset is made with organic cotton.

When To Wear: For moments when you need a sporty thong, You will know those moments.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from a blade of grass: Hi! You might notice me. I am one of a trillion trillion blades of grass. But I notice you. With just one pair of Period underwear, you're saving the Earth from so much non-disposable junk. I have some blade of grass friends who live near landfills and let me tell you, slow decomposing tampons and pads are not pretty. Next time you see a breeze going through a field of grass, know that it's us waving hello and thank you at you.

Good concept but not for me

I bought a few of these thongs to wear during the last few light days of my period and for my heavy discharge days during ovulation. I wanted to like them because they're more discreet (no VPL!) and a little saucy. However, I think I ordered a size too big, so the fit doesn't work for me. The gusset doesn't go far enough back and doesn't leave much clearance for discharge to be absorbed. I also love the Sporty Stretch material for my high-waisted underwear I have, but this material is way too rough and scratchy as a thong -- it irritated my parts since it digs. I also don't usually wear thongs so it just wasn't for me. I might try to pass them along to someone I know. I'm glad I tried it, though.

    Almost perfect, coverage needed!

I was thrilled with the fabric and fit of these period under wear! Sporty, stretchy but almost like compression material. So great.

Unfortunately, instead of designing these like the bikini underwear where the absorbent material extends all the way back they made a seam right in the middle of the crotch and then you’ve got non absorbent underwear material. You get absorbent coverage only in the very front, not fully across the area that you need it! This isn’t super helpful and leads to leaks even with light flow. If they had continued the absorbent material all the way back like their other underwear types it would be way more useful. I think they needed to test these a bit more to get a functional product.

Will have to return the thongs that I hadn’t worn yet, but eagerly awaiting Period. to update this underwear in the future!

Holds so much more than you’d assume for how small the gusset is! Great for backup when I want to wear tight clothes and use my disc.

very lightweight and comfortable! the last ones i used (knix) felt so heavy and made me sweat a lot, ended up kind of dreading wearing them. love the cute color options. (tmi) havent noticed any rash or skin irritation that i did with knix, i have particulary sensitive skin and make sure to switch out frequently and rinse before washing. def would recommend to my friends! also true to size as i am a 10 and ordered large they fit very well not too tight
