Heavy absorbency: designed for heavy days, mid-days, and most importantly, for everybody.

Absorbs up to 9 tampons or 5 pads of flow.

I’m a classic boxer shape designed to absorb period flow. But here’s the real headline: I’m for people who period, because not just women period. While I look and feel very un-periody, I have a four-layer towel system that can handle your period flow for hours and, with a wicking layer, can super absorb, so that you never experience any wetness. Made of organic cotton, I’m a little softer and cozier than a regular boxer, but that’s a nice feeling on your period.

When to wear: on heavy days, mid-days, and if you prefer a boxer period.

Trying to do period math? Click here to work out how many pairs you need for your period according to your Flow Threshold.

Some customers report that this style runs a little small - we recommend sizing up if you are on the fence!

You can see our size chart here.

Our Fabrics

Body: 95% Organic Cotton with 5% Spandex Jersey

Absorbent Layer: 100% Polyester

Leak Resistant Layer: 100% Polyester PUL

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 10 tbls, or 8-10 tampons, worth of blood.

Check out our absorbency test video here.

You can see the length of the absorbent panel here.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from a frog: you’re doing it, you’re saving the world from waste, and more than that, embracing a new way of thinking when it comes to periods. I am in awe. Enjoy the boxer!

    Good product

I have two pairs of the boxer period underwear and I think they are pretty good. They are comfortable and very absorbent. However, they both have formed a nickel sized hole in the front black fabric and I'm not sure why. I did not stretch or rip the fabric in any way, it just sort of appeared.

    Overall great!

the style, fit, and absorbency are fantastic! My only issue, and it is enough for me to be here writing about it, is the seam on the right side. It's pretty thick and sticks out far enough where I can feel it rubbing up against me and it is very uncomfortable. It also leaves an intended line on my side that only feels relief when I take it off. If there are redesigns I would LOVE for this to be modified! The seam is the only thing thats stopped me from stocking up enough for my whole period.

Trans people be warned packaging IS NOT DISCREET

I am a trans man, I am stealth but still get periods. I decided to try these since I liked that they come in a more traditionally masculine cut than the other options and the inclusivity is appreciated. What's not good is it will arrive in packaging that is absolutely not discreet at all lol. In my honest opinion it is pretty disingenuous to sell a product marketed to trans customers and then use packaging that will out said trans customers immediately to whoever may see the envelope, whether that's roommates, mail person, or whoever else. Aside from that, the fit it a bit high waisted for my liking, but seems to fit alright. material is pretty comfortable too. I haven't used them during my period yet so I cannot speak on how well it actually works (I'll see if I can update once I do). However I wanted to warn my trans brothers out there that if discreet packaging is a concern for you, then be careful with this one

    Worked great

I got these for my teen daughter. She said she really liked them. She moves a lot in her sleep so often has leaks and she did not have any with these. She must have found them extra comfortable because I still see them in the laundry even on her non period weeks. I sized up for her for comfort.

Packaging not discreet as of April 2024

The packaging here is not discreet whatsoever and will put any stealth transman at risk for being outed as being biologically female due to the extreme nature of the packaging. "PERIOD. EVERYONE WILL WANT ONE." Plaster your packaging with your slogans. It's the easiest way to get the name of your company out there. Not the way to go for your trans customers when your product description claims "not just women period". In the US and other territories, the consequence for packaging like this could raise state by state or city by city.

If you're stealth and intend on ordering these, make sure your living situation accommodates the packaging. Glad I wasn't living in a dorm with another person when I ordered these.

Keep in mind the size you wear and how much they hang in the crotch if you normally wear boxer briefs. It can be tricky to find correct sizing, but xs may have been a better fit for me. I'm 5'3, 120 lbs with muscle and loose skin on stomach and thighs. Size small in men's. These underwear I have keep the waistband on my bellybutton in order to get them to fit snug against my crotch, otherwise they hang when I walk. During my period I want the crotch to sit on my crotch and not be loose, so I have to pull them up higher. May be a personal preference. It can be uncomfortable to have too much pressure added around the stomach on top of period cramps. Perfectly fine to sit and wear them lower though. Maybe should have ordered a different kind of period…
