Medium to light absorbency. Built for when your period is over the heavy days or for everyday leaks.

Absorbs up to 4 regular tampons worth of flow.

Hi, I’m a breezy bikini style for those medium to light period days, though I have the confidence that comes with great absorbency. I’m made from super soft brushed microfiber with an organic cotton gusset. I’m so cozy and comfy, you might even forget that you’re wearing Period underwear. I won’t hold that against you. And yes, I can be worn under leggings.

When to wear: on medium/light days and whenever you damn well like!

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from an Oak Tree: Hellooo. I’m a 100 year old oak tree. I live near a landfill and 80 years ago, I saw a tampon get thrown away. Guess what? It’s still there! Still decomposing! I can’t believe it. All the pads and tampons that people have thrown away are all there. And it’s so gross! I used to look out at fields and meadows and woodland. And now I just see decomposing bad products that will taken another hundred years to degrade. I have to confess, I started to lose a little faith in humans. Then you came along. Just by wearing one pair of Period just once, you’ve stopped 2 pads or 4 tampons from being in my eye line. Thank you!

Both good and bad for my first try at using these…

I’ve been considering trying period underwear for a long time and finally ordered these because they were cheap enough to take a chance on, unlike other brands that cost $20-40 a pair. I have no experience with any other period underwear, so I can’t say how these compare to anything other than regular disposable pads and tampons.

The pros: the material is very soft and comfortable. You can tell it’s padded and not regular underwear, but I found it more comfortable than a typical disposable pad. No twisting or bunching, and best of all, no diaper-like sound when I walk, which has to be one of my least favorite things about pads. As primary period protection on my lightest beginning days during the lead up to the Mt. Vesuvius-level two day flow of my heavy days, it worked as well as a typical pad or pantiliner, and it was really nice to not have to deal with changing pads/liners at the office. One pair lasted all day on those lightest days and I didn’t notice any odor. Really great!

The cons: the cut and fit of these undies is just odd. These are NOT a normal bikini cut and do not sit as low as they appear in the photo, not by a long shot. I thought I had ordered the wrong size when I took them out of the package because they looked so huge - I normally wear a size M/6 in standard bikini undies, and when I laid a pair of my regular undies over these to see the difference, there had to be a good 2-3 inches of extra fabric at the top of the waist and the bottom of the…

    Fit well but too thick

The material is too thick. I wish they made options for a lighter flows as this feels a bit like wearing a diaper and it’s not as breathable as other period Underwear.
