How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 10 tbls, or 8-10 tampons, worth of blood.

Check out our absorbency test video here.

You can see the length of the absorbent panel here.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from a Cheetah: Hi! You know me. You know how much I love to run. Running is the best thing in the universe. The only that ruins it is when you run past a decomposing tampon or pad. Man, that sucks. There are some things you can't unsee and that's one of them. But not for much longer! With incredible people like you, we're going to end all this ridiculous waste and make my runs fantastic again. Kudos.

    Sigh….

In terms of period/pee protection, they’re great; In terms of fit- they’re pretty good, they actually cover my bum without letting my hang out; but in terms of being underwear I want to wear: they’re terrible :-/. Not *everyone* like loosely goosey underwear- some of us like to feel like our mum tim has some support and is being held in- if there was a version made of the type of material that the waistband of the sporty ones is made of, it would probably be much better- but as they are, I won’t be purchasing again. I’d return these, but it feels like it would be a waste of money and time and effort- I’ll wear them with tight jeans, since the jeans will do what they won’t.

    Big Panties

So far, I like them enough. They feel so lightweight, it's hard to believe they will hold for hours without leaking. The sizing is a little big. I wear a 4 or 6, depending on the designer. I think I should have ordered a small instead of medium. They fit fine but I prefer them to be a bit more snug for comfort and reliability. Just washed out the first pair and am wearing the second. We'll see how it goes.

Not my favourite but does the trick

I bought these to play soccer in. They not flattering at all. They feel slightly better than wearing a diaper. I could run confidently while wearing them and they did not leak. Afterwards, I could feel the wetness against my skin and did not like that at all. I will continue to use them because they work but will look for a better option.

    Almost perfect for urine

I bought these for urine lakes that I have during exercising. They would be perfect except they do not have enough coverage in the back of the gusset areas and around the back of the legs they move and then urine can leak out. I am 5' 3 112 pounds and I bought extra small. The fit is perfect until you actually start bending and running and then they ride up a little bit and they don't collect all of the leak. They wash up very nice hold their shape and look and feel great but they do not completely do the job.
