I’m a classic boxer shape designed to absorb period flow. But here’s the real headline: I’m for people who period, because not just women period. While I look and feel very un-periody, I have a four-layer towel system that can handle your period flow for hours and, with a wicking layer, can super absorb, so that you never experience any wetness. Made of organic cotton, I’m a little softer and cozier than a regular boxer, but that’s a nice feeling on your period.

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 9 tampons worth of blood.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

    Just like bike shorts!

    I bought almost every style and these are one of my favorite for 2-3 day of period or day of expecting the period because of their look, it’s just like bike shorts! Perfect length and protection. Great absorption and actually easy to wash (they don’t stain and no smell after washes how it can be with some other brands). Perfect fit, I order size down usually to get snug fit. Love it!

    I already have multiple brands of period underwear. I decided to try these out, they just came in today and on first impression they looked huge and bulky but once I tried them on they were a PERFECT fit. I recommend sizing up I find ALL period underwear brands run small. I’m a XL in everything so I got a XXL and I am glad I did. I’m excited to be comfortable on my period! Switching to reusable brands has changed the game for me.

    the style, fit, and absorbency are fantastic! My only issue, and it is enough for me to be here writing about it, is the seam on the right side. It's pretty thick and sticks out far enough where I can feel it rubbing up against me and it is very uncomfortable. It also leaves an intended line on my side that only feels relief when I take it off. If there are redesigns I would LOVE for this to be modified! The seam is the only thing thats stopped me from stocking up enough for my whole period.

    I ordered a few of these boxers and a few of the sleeper shorts. I much prefer the sleeper shorts for fit; meanwhile, these have less padding and are more comfortable "down there" for longer-term wear. However, the waistband is too large on me, and it feels like I'm constantly pulling it up. I'll probably end up cinching the band so I can wear them more comfortably. For reference, I'm 5'3", about 118lbs, and my waist measurement is around 26 inches, but I have what I would consider thicker thighs than other women of my general size. So they fit well on my legs and hips. Unfortunately, if the waistband isn't tight enough, they sag and it truly feels like I'm wearing an adult diaper. My advice is size down and read as many reviews as you can! I know the washing instructions say don't dry on high heat, but I might just to get these to fit a little better.

    Now, a little about absorption. These are my first true period underwear. I have a heavy, but short flow that lasts about 5 days and comes on STRONG. Like thick, mucus-y, and dark. These will not help you on those days. I learned the hard way that these are not good for first-day flow if you don't have thin discharge. For more context, I'm in my early 30s and child-free, and my period has gotten heavier as I've aged into my "child-bearing years". Second day is better for sure, but I still have to wipe away the thicker discharge that doesn't get absorbed, otherwise it just feels wet and icky (again, like a diaper). I'm much…
