Absorbs 9 tampons worth of flow or five pads. Perfect for super heavy days.

Hi, I’m the Heavy High Waisted with an Extended Gusset. If I could, I would have called myself The Heavy Heavy High Waisted. I’m the exact same style as your favorite Heavy High Waisted Period. but with one big difference - I have an extended absorbent gusset that goes all the way from the top of the front to the top of the back. In other words, my absorbent panel is maxed out to as far as you can take it, so you can have even more confidence in going leak-free. I’m perfect for those first few heavy days when you might be back-flowing, front-flowing, or everywhere-flowing. It’s okay. We’ve all been there. I’m super soft, made of comfy cotton, and here to give you the super safe feeling that we all want on our heavy days.

When do wear: on those days when you need all out protection.

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 10 tablespoons, or 8-10 tampons, worth of blood.

Check out our absorbency test video here.

You can see the length of the absorbent panel here.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Message from a Coral Reef: Hi! Thank you for using non disposable products. It may feel like a small gesture - but it’s not. I’m sick of getting tampons and pads getting caught up in my beautiful branches and you’re helping to keep that trash out of my home. Just one pair of Period means that 5 pads/9 tampons are never used or thrown away. Thank you! Next time you swim by me, stop and say hi.

WOW I WOULD BUY AGAIN AND GIFT TO FRIENDS

I ADORE THIS FIT! I bought two of these, two sleepers and a bikini fit. I didn’t think I was going to like this style but ITS MY FAVORITE!!! I can wear this on my heaviest day and it absorbs as much as the sleeper but without the issue I have with the sleeper (feeling like a diaper that starts even falling down). I wear this to bed and it covers me! I wear this while running errands and going about my day and it’s awesome! It is easy to clean (all styles are!)!!! I was excited about easy to clean because it was a thing holding me back from trying period underwear besides other brands being too expensive. The only thing I would change if I could is I love the extended to the sides width of the sleeper. If that could exist on this style it would be PERFECTION FROM HEAVEN! It isn’t a deal breaker because it still absorbs. I just notice how at the seems is where leakage can happen because it’s the edge and if the edge was a bit more extended it would be helpful. Lastly a thought I have for all styles is wishing right at the vaginal area how much just that area can absorb versus the entire underwear piece and depending how much it currently absorbs how much more could it in that area. I saturate that area the most and will have to change underwear even though other areas have not absorbed anything (higher up that let’s be honest it’s for when you’re laying down and your period travels up your butt). No matter what THANK YOU FOR THIS AFFORDABLE EASY TO USE PRODUCT THAT HELPS SAVE…

    Did not provide full protection

These were more comfortable than the sleep shorts but did still leak.

Great coverage, but too tight in the waist.

This would've been my overnight pair for my heavy day 2 flow FOR SURE but they were way too tight in the waist. Both cotton pairs I ordered were too snug for comfort but I was able to exchange so easily and donate the too-small pairs.

    Extra coverage?

I ordered two pairs of these but unfortunately there’s nothing “extra” about them:( after only 2 or 3 hours today (while doing nothing) I leaked onto my pants. While the gusset extends front to back I still leak right thru the sides of the crotch. Nothing can be perfect but this was truly disappointing for “extra coverage”
