I’m a no brainer. I’m exactly like disposable pads, except you can keep reusing me and I am toxin free. Nasty plastic gone. Nasty bleach gone. I’m toxin-free organic cotton and super soft. Use me in your regular underwear, use me as extra back up in Period underwear, then throw me in the wash and I’m good to go again. I’m great for heavy and light days. 

Quick fact: did you know the plastic tape bit on disposable pads is one of the most polluting plastics in the world? It has a super high carbon footprint as well.

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse any fresh blood off in the sink or the shower.

Hang to dry then add to your laundry pile. 

Machine wash warm, no bleach.

Tumble dry low. Do not dry clean or iron. 

Each pad can hold up to 9 tampons, worth of blood.

How long will one pad last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

    Life changing!!

    I wasn’t sure how I would like these, but they changed my life!!! The pads are so comfortable, and they feel quality. I feel cleaner and comfier with these than with disposable. It has to be healthier too!!

    Excellent customer service, mediocre product

    I ordered two of these five packs and noticed that none of the snaps on the bottom would snap together. I got a response promptly from customer service and was sent another two five packs for free, but the plastic snaps still don't work. I will be replacing them with metal snaps myself.

    In theory, these pads should be great but they could use some improvements.

    Positives: The absorbency is good and I haven't had any trouble with leaks so far. I have sensitive skin and haven't any issues with irritation.

    Negatives: I've had some trouble unsnapping them and the snap itself is kind of large/noticable; I feel like a softer, smaller snap would be less obtrusive. Additionally, the pads are not long enough for me. I have larger thighs and it ends up bunching up sliding around in the front sometimes when walking depending on the underwear. They hit at an awkward spot and can be slightly uncomfortable even if I readjust it.

    Overall, they're good to wear around the house but less practical for days where I'm out and about.
