1 pair absorbs 9 tampons of flow

Make any kind of underwear Period.™ underwear.

The most affordable, absorbent, toxin free, comfortable reusable pads.

Absorbs up to 9 tampons worth of flow!

I’m a no brainer. I’m exactly like disposable pads, except you can keep reusing me and I am toxin free. Nasty plastic gone. Nasty bleach gone. I’m toxin-free organic cotton and super soft. Use me in your regular underwear, use me as extra back up in Period underwear, then throw me in the wash and I’m good to go again. I’m great for heavy and light days.

Quick fact: did you know the plastic tape bit on disposable pads is one of the most polluting plastics in the world? It has a super high carbon footprint as well.

Each pad measures 10.25" long and 3.25" wide at the narrowest part.

Trying to do period math? Click here to work out how many pairs you need for your period according to your Flow Threshold.

This style is one size fits all.

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse any fresh blood off in the sink or the shower.

Hang to dry then add to your laundry pile.

Machine wash warm, no bleach.

Tumble dry low. Do not dry clean or iron.

Each pad can hold up to 9 tampons, worth of blood.

Check out our absorbency test video here.

How long will one pad last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Personal message from the entire ecosystem: thank you for using non-disposable products, it’s this kind of thinking that’s going to help save The Planet. Thank goodness, you came along.

    Favorite Pads...but Ow Snaps!

I purchased these for postpartum and I do have to say that they really helped. They hold a sizeable flow but I do double up with period undies, especially for my really heavy mornings. They aren't the easiest the just slip in a pocket because of their bulk but they are discreet looking with the black color as I've discovered while going to make a swap while at the office. I do love the organic cotton feel too!

I truly love these pads but my main issue with them is how hard some of the snaps are. My fingers hurt so much after trying to get some of these on. I even asked my husband to help snap some on to no avail. I purchased 2 packs and washed them together so I can't tell you if it's a bad batch or what, but basically half of my stock have been unusable. I got back to them every now and then thinking I just imagined it, but nope! I wish I could give these five stars because they're what I was looking for and when the snaps work, they're nearly perfect. I'd recommend you testing every snap before you start using these because if it seems difficult, it's not just you!

    Comfortable but smallish

I wanted to go through a couple periods before reviewing, so here is my review. These are supposedly for heavy flow but they are more narrow and shorter than the heavy flow resumable pads I have already. I have endometriosis and have extremely heavy periods. As such, I have not used these on heavy days because I just don't trust they they won't overflow. They're definitely more comfortable than the other pads I have. The fabric is soft and non irritating so far. The snaps though! I don't know if I got a bad batch or what but they are almost impossible to unsap. I have to dig and almost break my nails into them to get them off, which is frustrating, especially if they're full. Fix the snaps!

    Good, but not my favorite

The pads are nice and great quality, but tend to slide around, making me constantly feeling like I have to check them. I’ve only used them like twice and try to avoid them because it makes me nervous 😅

    They leak

I have been using these for 3 months and although they absorb alot of blood they leak on the side of the 'wings' onto underwear and pants. Because of this I can only wear them at home, no way I can use them in public and risk having bloody pants at work. Fixing the 'wing' and making the pad shorter instead of such as long pad would make this an ideal purchase. For now I will have to try other period companies.
