Yup. I’m for those days when your period has your foot down on the flow pedal. I have a little less fabric than the high-waisted, but with the same four-layer towel system I have just as much absorbency. My padding is designed to take whatever the flow throws, while making you feel extra secure and safe. Oh, did I also mention how cozy and comfy I am? Anything a tampon or pad can do, I can do so much better.

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 9 tampons worth of blood.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

    Not true to size

    These were not true to size, so they bunch in the crotch and have gaps at my thighs. For what I bought them for (pregnancy) they are actually very comfortable on my belly and do the job but I would not wear them with a heavy flow afterwards as they don't stay in place. My pants size was an 18 - 235lbs pre pregnancy.

    Don’t wait! Just try them

    I am so glad I got these! I like the fit of the bikini better than the high waisted pair I purchased at the same time. I use these as a backup to a menstrual cup and loved not worrying about pads and extra waste. The biggest challenge as a new user will be figuring out how many pairs to have on hand as they take a long time to air dry in my midwestern environment. Love being able to purchase with HSA funds too!

    I like them

    As someone who used to wear Always size 5 overnight pads and usually used about 3-4 of those pads a day for flow reference. These last me 3-4 hours till they get uncomfy to pull back up after using the bathroom. They are very comfortable and good for if I wanna wear fitting jeans on my period. I generally pair these with pads which I've started using the reusable ones from here (also 3-4 hours of comfortable use for me) and I feel super secure, never a leak with these.
