Heavy absorbency: designed for heavy days and first periods that are finding their rhythm.

Absorbs up to 9 tampons of flow and 5 pads.

Hi! I’m for the special people who are joining the half of the world that periods (the better half). I know it can be a bit of a wild ride, so I’m here to make it as easy as possible. I’m a stylish boyshort, with a four layer towel absorbency that can take the heaviest of days, and I’m made of super soft organic cotton. When you first start your period journey, it can take a while to regularize, so I’m great for whatever flow you’re going through. One big piece of advice: don’t just put me on and wear me all day without trying me out first. When you first get your period, try me out at home, and work out your flow threshold i.e. how many hours you can flow for in me.

When to wear: any day of a junior period.

Trying to do period math? Click here to work out how many pairs you need for your period according to your Flow Threshold.

This style is intended for teenagers or petite adults and runs true to size.

Teens should order their most standard size.

A women's extra small can comfortably fit in a juniors medium.

A women's small can comfortably fit in a juniors large.

You can see our size chart here.

Our Fabrics

Toxicity

None, zero, nada, zilch. We are proud to be one of the few period underwear brands that do not use any toxins in our products because who wants chemicals near the most sensitive part of their body? Not us. Or you.

Our fabrics have been rigorously tested by a third party company to ensure we are compliant with industry standards and best practices. We are proud to use fabric that is free of PFAS toxins. You can read more about product safety here

How to take care of your Period.

Rinse for a few seconds.

Either hand wash and hang dry, or add to the laundry pile.

Regular wash, no bleach.

Tumble dry low or hang dry.

Do not dry clean.

Each pair of Period. underwear can hold up to 10 tbls, or 8-10 tampons, worth of blood.

Check out our absorbency test video here.

How long will one pair of Period. last?

Everybody periods differently so it’s tough to be exact. Our average time is about 8 hours on a heavier flow day. Though some customers need to change after 3 to 4 hours, and others can go up to 14 hours (lucky them!). As your period gets lighter, one pair can take you through the day and night (just like regular underwear). But again, everybody Periods differently, so you need to take one cycle to figure out exactly how often you need to change. Start with a conservative estimate on your heavy days, and check in on your Period underwear after 4 hours. If you still feel good, give it another hour. Keep going until you figure out your limit. Here at Period, we find we need between 3 to 4 pairs on the first two heavy days, including evenings. And if you leak, please forgive us! Just this once. (Remember how many tampons you have forgiven). Treat the ‘leak’ as a gift and note the hour of your leakage. That is the best indicator of your ‘flow threshold’ how long the underwear will last for you.

Personal message from the entire ecosystem: thank you for using non-disposable products, it’s this kind of thinking and your generation that’s going to help save The Planet. Thank goodness, you came along.

    Screw pads, I love these

I love these period underwear. I used to get rashes from other pads, but I don't even feel uncomfortable using these. My only complaint is the leg holes are slightly too small for my thighs, but otherwise they work wonderfully. They also have a good amount of gusset, which helps a lot with leakage. I haven't had a problem with leakage, and I normally would! Overall, great stuff

The Answer to My Period Problems

I can't believe there's finally a better solution, because I've tried it all - pads (regular, organic, minty), tampons, menstrual cups - nothing has worked for me as well as these. Even the other brands of period underwear pale in comparison. These are comfortable, breathable, and hold my heavy flow. I can wear junior's sizes, but I think I'll be more comfortable in an adult size, other than that, these are perfect! Highly recommend.

    A new generation

I bought these along with the bikini style ahead of time for my daughter who recently started her period. (I also have some for me too, which has been a magnificent change I wish I had had all my life). She has been using her Period. undies from the beginning and it makes my heart sing that she has the ease and comfort, economy and waste-free option from the get-go. I worried she would think it’s weird, but has taken to it quite naturally. Happy mom, thank you!!
